Caspersen Beach

A section of Venice Beach is Caspersen Beach - known for the many fossilized shark teeth that can be found there on the beach and in the water. We also wanted to try our luck and  visited the beach. It takes about 1.5 hours to get there from our house. The beach section itself offers free parking, toilets and showers right next to it. The beach itself is rather natural, so that there is a little more seaweed there, but the water is crystal clear and wonderfully turquoise. So you can not only look for the shark's teeth, you can also snorkel wonderfully. The best thing to do is to take a special sieve shovel with you so that you can sift through the sand in the water - this way we found the first teeth very quickly. That was great fun and the success was really good - in the end we had 21 teeth in different sizes. This beach is really worth a trip, especially since the entire area around Venice is beautiful and there are plenty of dining options there.
