Lovers Key Beach
Our next favorite beach is in Lovers Key State Park. The drive there (approx. 45 minutes) is a highlight. One drives over Estero Blvd. several miles always directly along the beach, so that breathtaking views of the sea and the directly adjacent beach villas open up again and again. You only pay 8 USD per car per day and can then stand in the large parking lot. A free shuttle takes you to the actual beach. You can also walk, but since you are usually well packed with a cool box, chairs and a parasol, this service is very pleasant. During the 10-minute drive, the shuttle drivers already share a few highlights and tips about the state park. Arriving at the south beach you will find a dreamlike, rarely filled beach, which is equipped with toilets, a snack bar and showers. SUPs and loungers can also be borrowed. For us a real Florida highlight and a must-do on every vacation!
